Resort Description

Hidden in plain sight may be the best way to describe Solitude Resort in Utah’s Big Cottonwood Canyon. In many areas, these 1,200 acres would be the flagship ski resort, but with five other world class resorts just over one ridge or another, and a sixth just up the road, Solitude has a tendency to get over looked in the Wasatch. The resort limits season pass sales to keep pressure from Salt Lake Down, and even at the busiest times, there is rarely a lift line. But this is still the Cottonwood Canyons, which means 500 inches of continental snow on an average year.

The Summit Lift offers the best access to expert terrain, including Honeycomb Canyon and the puckering Fantasy Ridge. Intermediates and beginners will enjoy themselves all day on Eagle and Moonbeam Express lifts. A joint pass with neighboring Brighton doubles the available terrain.
